The best technology, adaptive-beam headlights, that use both low-and-high beams at once, without blinding oncoming drivers, because they constantly read the road and, duh, adapt — are illegal in the U.S., even though they’ve been legal overseas for year. And even better tech is coming. But if we can’t get it Americans will be far less safe than European, Chinese, and Canadian drivers.
